Melbourne School introduces St Liborius Primary School in Eaglehawk, for all your education and learning for your childs future, We invite you to explore and learn more about the quality 21st Century education with St Liborius Primary School .
St. Liborius is a welcoming community where staff, families and the parish work together in partnership to provide the students with an excellent primary education.
Our school is a part of the St. Liborius Parish and services the educational needs of Families within Eaglehawk and surrounding areas (from Long Gully to Myers Flat and Raywood to Maiden Gully).
In 2004, St Liborius celebrated its Centenary of education. For 15 years the Sisters of Mercy (until 1920) then the Sisters of St. Joseph (until 1978) dedicated themselves to running and developing our school and ensuring that the children of the Parish received a strong faith and academic education. This tradition of education, permeated by the Catholic faith is continued now by an all lay staff under the guidance of Fr. Jovan Lustre. Catholic Schools have their life within the life of the Church. They do not exist except on that base.
The Church has established a system of schooling in which the vision of life understood in terms of Jesus Christ, is promoted and developed. Religious Education cannot be separated from the general school program as can other aspects of education, however there are distinct doctrinal aspects which need to be taught throughout any year’s program.
Steeped in history, St Liborius Primary School is one of the popular school in the Eaglehawk area. Our aim is clear and present in all aspects of the school. Respect, Compassion and Resilience are some of the qualities demonstrated towards the personal attributes we strive to gain and display in our community.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
