The Alpine School and its staff contribute in a considerable way to the social capital and fabric of the local community and play a valuable role in the economy and social life of Dinner Plain. The Alpine School Campus prides itself in generating and establishing unique communities.
The location of the Alpine School Campus allows a tremendous opportunity for exploring and interacting with many iconic locations in the Victorian Alps, including: The Victoria River, Mount Loch, various huts in the High Country, Swindler’s Spur and Mount Hotham.
Seasonal features of the outdoor program include cross-country and downhill skiing, mountain bike riding along the Dinner Plain trails, caving at Mount Buffalo and White Water Rafting on the Mitta Mitta River.
Steeped in history, Alpine School Campus is one of the popular school in the Dinner Plain area. Our aim is clear and present in all aspects of the school. Respect, Compassion and Resilience are some of the qualities demonstrated towards the personal attributes we strive to gain and display in our community.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
