Wellington Point State School has a 124 year history of delivering high quality education to local students. Some third and fourth generation students are enrolled. As well setting and maintaining high academic standards in Literacy and Numeracy students can participate and enjoy a wider range of cultural, sporting, educational and community events. Highlights are the award- winning music and sporting programs.
The school has been leading the way with effective, focused and innovative teaching and learning practices. This has resulted in the achievement of outstanding academic results evidenced in national tests as acknowledged by the Queensland Premier and the Minister of Education.
Spacious playing fields, native trees, native fauna and gardens combine to provide an optimum learning environment for 600 students. The cohesive educational community fosters warm and respectful relationships amongst students, staff and parents. The school houses a unique historical museum, 'Harry's Bunkhouse' which makes local history more meaningful to students. The school is part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.
