Hayes Park Public School serves a growing community with a large percentage of the local community working at B.H.P. Port Kembla or related industries. At the beginning of 2013 we have grown to 530 students which in the Department of Education & Communities system means we are a PP2 school. The culture and climate of the school is characterised by a strong sense of pride, open communication, and a strong commitment to working as a supportive, cohesive team. This culture and climate is reflected in the school's statement of purpose: Based on the premise that all children can learn, we as a school community at Hayes Park Public School, will provide a motivating, caring learning environment which strives to cater for the needs of all students. Students are provided with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to become life long learners empowered to manage change.
